Otherwise it has worked well for the few weeks I've had it so far. The vacuum feature is not perfect, but I'd say it gets about 90% of the trimmings. The early reports of issues where the blade height adjusts itself on its own seem to be gone. I couldn't see any way that could happen with this device now. I marked it down a star for that issue as well as the fact that there is a plastic spring-loaded piece that I think is there to help push the trimmings toward the vacuum, but when you remove the top for mustache trimming it would be nice if that piece moved out of the way so you can get maximum control of where you are cutting.
Great product. Hubby likes it as a replacement for an older model (that lasted about 6 years).
Lots of power and stays sharp. I have had this item for over a year. LOVE IT.
Overall, very pleased with this trimmer. As for the vacuum part. As for trimming. Mine has stayed on the 3 setting that I chose for everytime without fail. But it is not 100% mess free as the package and the manufacturer suggest. So I can't go 5 stars, because it isn't 100%. outstanding. I have had no problems with the length changing as some reviewers reported.
it is a marked improvement over the old method of covering the sink with a towel or just wiping all the stubble off after trimming. but a noticable improvement. Received the T980 for Christmas and have been using it for 2 months now. Gives excellent repeatable results. I would say that the vacuum catches about 85% to 90% of the hairs.
I would highly reccomend it. It is very powerful, even without the boost. Once you learn to use it, you will like it. I have a full beard and it does not pull my facial hair when I use it. The first time I used it, I was not very impressed. But each time I use it now, I am more pleased. The vacuum is not perfect, but a lot better than not having one.
